Well, he didn’t willingly feed him, but you’re right. I don’t like him because he’s ‘useless’ I just don’t like his attitude.

I’m with you on his attitude 100%. He was somewhat endearing at first (another bumpkin like little Goku was!) but it got old pretty fast.

But also, a lot of his bad personality (mainly in Z but also in Dragon Ball while at Korinto) was cooked up by the anime as filler. He’s self-serving, but originally wasn’t as extreme as the anime made it seem. XD

Turning into “a dick” is why SSJ was dramatic. Whenever Goku had flown into a rage before, he had been raging and shouting. Barring Nappa, who he so outclassed, whenever he flew into a rage Goku had his ass kicked (Tao Pai Pai, Tambourine, Piccolo Daimao). Part of his training with Kami was to learn to calm his heart. And he did.

But as he explains to Freeza, “A legendary warrior, possessed of a serene heart, awakened through intense anger. I am the Super Saiyan, Son Goku!” (source, DBZKai Blu-ray, subtitles for episode 48)

Yep. That and I just really loved seeing him so … thoroughly filled with rage but so eerily still. I mean, when he tells Gohan to gtfo “while he still has a sliver of reason left,” I GET SHIVERS EVERY TIME. erry time, y’all.
